| The Garrett County Sanitary District, Inc., was incorporated in 1962 and operates in accordance with Title 9, Subtitle 6, of the Environment Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland. In April of 2003, the Board of County Commissioners of Garrett County, Maryland became the governing body of the District and operates as the Garrett County Department of Public Utilities.
